References and Recommendations

Due to the occasional changes of accessibility in my professional references, they can be made available upon request.

To Whom it May Concern:

It is a pleasure for me to write this letter of recommendation for Ben Morse, who was a student in
my Color Theory course in the fall quarter 2010 at the Art Institute of Washington - Dulles. Ben is
one of the hardest working students I have encountered in all of the courses that I have taught and
has stood not only due to his hard work but also in his unending dedication and involvement in
multiple elements of campus life.

Ben is a dedicated creative thinker who approaches each course with an open mind and possesses
the ability to ask questions, while providing thoughtful and insightful feedback to his peers. He
was a welcome addition to any classroom because he set a high standard for other students to
work toward and served a model example of professionalism and respect in an academic setting.
Ben entered his studies committed to media arts and animation, however that did not prevent him
from studying all aspects of fine art and design. Most impressive was Ben’s ability to balance a
full-time course load with his work on campus, while managing to create his own personal body
of work which explored elements of color theory, optical color mixing within complex minimalist
compositions and the addition of mathematics and intuition within geometric portraiture. This
culminated with our campus’ first student-driven, self-promoted and organized solo exhibition,
which demonstrated both his drive and unending passion for artistic endeavors.

Ben has been invaluable as a student-worker on our campus, so much so that the faculty and staff
have spent months preparing ourselves for his departure upon graduation and have had to train
multiple students to take on his role. Ben has offered his time to the Academic Support Center, in
which I am also involved, to provide tutoring, mentoring and scheduled workshops to students
and faculty in math and design applications. I have had the pleasure of attending two of his
workshops and can personally attest to his ability to provide assistance in a helpful and
professional manner to all levels of experience. Ben’s involvement in the Dulles drawing club,
as a founding member and the elected president, has promoted an interest in figure drawing and
campus involvement.

Ben immerses himself in every aspect of being a part of an academic institution and is willing to
dedicate his time and effort above and beyond what is required. I rarely encounter a student with
as much drive, dedication and professionalism and because of this, I am able to say with extreme
confidence that Ben Morse will be an excellent addition to your company. If there are any
questions I can answer, please feel free to contact me at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Courtney Murphy

To Whom it May Concern:

As an educator, it is a pleasure to recommend Mr. Ben Morse. Ben has been my student at the Art Institute of Washington-Dulles from academic year 2011 to 2013. Ben is an exceptional student. He is responsible, punctual, proactive, and always willing to help others.

Ben has excellent communication skills. In addition he is extremely organized, reliable, and knowledgeable about 3D computer software, animation, and motion graphics. Ben can work well independently or as a team member to ensure that the job gets done. He is flexible and willing to work in any project is assigned to him.

Ben would be a tremendous asset for any company or project  and has my highest recommendation. Please do not hesitate to call if I can be of further assistance in providing support regarding his qualifications.

To whom it may concern,
I would like to highly recommend Ben Morse. I have worked with Ben on a number of large projects and he is very focused and driven. He has done a number of graphic design jobs for me and I have always been more happy with the results, he would be an asset to any institution.

Over the past 3 years (2007 - 2010 as of this writing) I have put on a large music festival in Baltimore. He has been an integral part of the planning the event. Each year it is great to know that I have someone as dedicated as Ben helping out.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me, [email protected].

Ben Morse is one of the few people I know that actually puts 110% in everything he does. When he has his mind made up on something he does it, and he goes above and beyond. He's also an honest and all around great guy.

To whom it may concern,
Ben Morse and I have worked closely together to organize a skateboarding organization and put on a skateboarding competition at a local skate park. In the course of my dealings with Ben with regards to the organization and the competition I have found Ben to be one of the most organized, competent, and hard working individuals in my experience. I think it's fair to say that the success of the organization and the two competitions that we have put on thus far is due in large part to the dedication and forsight he has had in attending to the different aspects of planning and making things happen. I can, without pause, give my highest recommendation of him.

I've known Ben Morse for over 10 years and in all that time he has had an active interest in art and animation. He's taken the initiative to learn 3D modeling and animation on his own, as well as stop-motion animation. His new found passion for photography will only spur his desire to learn more about the trade. He is a bona-fide workaholic (just ask his wife and friends), an ethic which I'm sure will carry over into his continuing education. Ben is one of the few people I've met that is both artistically gifted and logically minded.

My name is Brian Moffitt, I work as a Designer at Newport News Shipbuilding, in Newport News, Virginia. I am a friend of Ben Morse. Over the course of my 15 year friendship with Ben, I have been constantly impressed by his dedicated work ethic and determination for personal growth. He has become a defining reason for the economic success of his current place of employment as Manager of an online music store. His focused determination and eagerness to learn has always been a stand out trait of his character.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am very pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Ben Morse. I have known Ben personally since 2006. Ben is a thoughtful, independent and very talented person. I look forward to talking with him several times a month about our common interests, skating, art and community. He is an effective communicator and someone I regard with the highest character.

Recently, I have worked closely with Ben in forming a volunteer organization to improve a local skate park. His efforts to make our organization succeed have been invaluable. He is a focused and dedicated leader, accepting difficult challenges without hesitation. Our organization recently completed its second annual fund raising event in Leesburg, VA. This event would not have been successful without Ben’s countless volunteer hours and vision. Ben attracted several donating sponsors, designed the event schedule, designed the event graphics, managed the registration booth, and served on the judges’ panel! I’m certain he did much more that I am not aware of. He has done all this and more without need for recognition, compensation or praise.

I am looking forward to working with and knowing Ben for many more years. I have no doubt that you will find Ben to be a dedicated and resourceful member of your program.
